Softball Game Preview: Dock Mennonite Pioneers vs. Northeast Bradford Panthers

The Dock Mennonite Pioneers will challenge the Northeast Bradford Panthers on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dock Mennonite is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Maritime Academy Charter a 15-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Dana Delamater was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Riley Gahman and Taelyn Landis did most of the damage at the plate: Gahman earned one RBI, three runs, and two stolen bases, while Landis earned three runs and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Lydia Ehst, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Northeast Bradford faced off against Greenwood on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Wildcats. The victory was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five contests in a row.

Dock Mennonite's record is now 7-3. As for Northeast Bradford, their record now sits at 13-7.
