Baseball Game Preview: Nova Titans vs. True North Classical Academy Titans

Nova will take on True North Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Nova came up short against Flanagan on Wednesday, falling 8-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.

Nova got a good showing from Joseph Escobar, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Escobar has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Angelo Rivas was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, True North Classical Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against North Broward Prep on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-3.

William Foss was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, True North Classical Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Balsera, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

True North Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Nova, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
