Basketball Game Preview: Greenwood Eagles vs. J.L. Mann Patriots

The Greenwood Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the J.L. Mann Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Greenwood sitting on three straight wins and J.L. Mann on seven.

Last Friday, Greenwood beat Woodmont 39-27.

Meanwhile, J.L. Mann earned a 49-37 victory over Mauldin on Monday.

J.L. Mann's win came from a few key players Greenwood will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Breah Franks, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. What's more, she also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Imari Richardson, who went 6 for 10 to rack up 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

J.L. Mann smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Greenwood's record now sits at 14-8. As for J.L. Mann, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

Greenwood came up short against J.L. Mann in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 50-46. Can Greenwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
