Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Garber

After losing to Waukomis the last time they met, Garber decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Garber Wolverines walked away with a 70-58 victory over the Waukomis Chiefs on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wolverines' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Chiefs are ranked 72nd).

Garber now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Waukomis, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garber will challenge Seiling at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Waukomis, they will take on Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waukomis is facing Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at the right time seeing as Pioneer-Pleasant Vale is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
