Basketball Recap: Prentice's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

Prentice hadn't done well against Athens recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Prentice Buccaneers walked away with a 62-52 win over the Athens Bluejays. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Bluejays are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Prentice pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Athens, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Prentice will welcome Phillips at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Phillips knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Prentice likes a good challenge. As for Athens, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Athens Bluejays face off against the Abbotsford Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
