Softball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Mcewen

McEwen came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Montgomery Central Indians get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 back in March.

Montgomery Central's batters probably weren't too happy with Ava Lastovka, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up four walks). Lastovka has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kylie Ange was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

McEwen's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Montgomery Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Looking ahead, McEwen will host Waverly Central at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Montgomery Central, they will face off against Stewart County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
