Softball Recap: Garces Memorial Extends Winning Streak to Six

Garces Memorial had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Rosamond Roadrunners get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Izzy Frye was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Reese Bowles was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Garces Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rosamond only posted an OBP of .125.

Garces Memorial pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Rosamond, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garces Memorial will host Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rosamond, they will face off against Foothill at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Foothill has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.75 runs per game on average), something Rosamond will no doubt try to take advantage of.
