Gardendale is still winless after their contest against Woodlawn on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Colonels. On the bright side, the 37- point performance marked the Rockets' highest-scoring game to date.

Despite the loss, Gardendale still got an impressive performance from Rian Porter, who threw for 181 yards and one TD, and also punched in one rushing score.

Gardendale's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Woodlawn, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6.

Gardendale and Woodlawn could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Rockets will challenge Spain Park at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th with a big rank disadvantage (227 vs. 22). Meanwhile, Woodlawn (ranked 167th) will meet Parker (ranked 20th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
