Hawken hadn't done well against Gilmour Academy recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hawks blew past the Lancers, posting a 42-13 victory. Fans of the Hawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

A big part of Hawken's win came down to the chemistry between Donovan Moorhead and his top target Charlie Mallett. Moorhead threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns while completing 91.2% of his passes while Mallett picked up 154 receiving yards and three scores. Those 320 passing yards gave Moorhead a new career-high.

The victory (which was Hawken's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 39.7 points this season. As for Gilmour Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
