The Katella Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Edison Chargers at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Katella will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Katella had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Anaheim on Tuesday. Katella put the hurt on Anaheim with a sharp 11-1 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 2, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Alejandro Tinoco made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other pitching news, Katella got a great performance from Anthony Garcia as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits Garcia has allowed since back in March of 2024.
Back at the plate, Kevin Reyes Mejia was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Hector Perez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Katella was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Anaheim only posted a batting average of .130.
Meanwhile, Edison gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against San Clemente by a score of 6-3.
Katella pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for Edison, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
