Softball Game Preview: Mingo Central Miners vs. Van Bulldogs

The Mingo Central Miners will head out on the road to face off against the Van Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mingo Central has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mingo Central couldn't beat Tolsia on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Miners lost 12-4 to the Rebels. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Van was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Mount View, falling 11-3.

Van saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calli Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Van's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Mingo Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Mingo Central took their victory against Van when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 9-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Miners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
