Softball Game Preview: Frisco Raccoons vs. Centennial Titans

The Frisco Raccoons will head out to challenge the Centennial Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Frisco, who comes in off a win.

Frisco was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lebanon Trail, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raccoons have posted since February 15, 2024.

Tori Franklin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Franklin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ali Hubbard, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Bailee Hodnett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Centennial came up short against Liberty on Friday, falling 13-1. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Redhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Frisco's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9-1. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Frisco took their victory against Centennial when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 15-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frisco since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
