Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. St. Mary's Rams

The Lincoln Trojans will take on the St. Mary's Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

Lincoln came up short against Lodi on Thursday, falling 16-9. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Flames: they've now lost six in a row.

Alicia Ott was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and one run. Mallory Wagner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's posted their closest victory since April 18, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Kimball 7-6.

The team relied heavily on Matea Muraoka, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for St. Mary's, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15.

Everything went Lincoln's way against St. Mary's in their previous matchup back in April, as Lincoln made off with a 9-0 victory. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
