Preview: North Central Knights vs. Central Eagles
North Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Central Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. North Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
North Central suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 51-14 loss at the hands of Chesterfield. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Central in their matchups with Chesterfield: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Central took a serious blow against York Prep on Tuesday, falling 61-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Central has suffered against York Prep since January 15, 2021.
North Central bumped their record down to 0-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
North Central came up short against Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 46-40. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Central's Jordyn Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
