Volleyball Recap: Newman Smith Takes a Loss

Newman Smith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Reedy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-7, 25-7.

Aaliyah Castro paced Newman Smith's offense, picking up six kills. Castro got some help from Demi Brown and her six assists.

Newman Smith's defeat dropped their record down to 7-24. As for Reedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

Newman Smith wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Highland Park on the 21st. As for Reedy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Turner on the 21st.
