Baseball Recap: Silver Creek Drops Season-High Score on North Harrison

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silver Creek). They blew past the North Harrison Cougars 15-3 on Thursday. Considering the Dragons have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Silver Creek got a massive performance out of Hudson Garten, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Garten has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Karson Cook, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Silver Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Silver Creek's sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Harrison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

Silver Creek will venture away from home to face off against Southridge at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for North Harrison, they will face off against Evansville Harrison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
