Football Recap: Nizhir Bess Leads Milpitas' Defense on Friday + How To Watch

If Los Altos wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Milpitas, they should've done a better job of containing Nizhir Bess. The Trojans strolled past the Eagles with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-21 for which the team can thank Bess, who rushed for 94 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making ten total tackles.

Milpitas' defense made their presence known, laying out Giancarlo Mendoza. four times. Bess was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Kale Hawelu got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Los Altos still got an impressive performance from Gavin Wu, who picked up 72 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 33 yards.

The victory made it two in a row for Milpitas and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.0 points over those games. As for Los Altos, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milpitas will face off against Maria Carrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Los Altos, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Terra Nova at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
