Volleyball Preview: Coalinga Horned Toads vs. Firebaugh Eagles        
        
		
             After six games on the road, Coalinga is heading back home. They will welcome the Firebaugh Eagles  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Coalinga will be strutting in after a  victory while Firebaugh will be coming in after a  defeat.
 Last Saturday,  it was close, but  Coalinga sidestepped Fowler for  a  2-1 win.
 Coalinga was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (56-54), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-23,  15-8.
 Coalinga had a senior duo take command as  Lola Martin  had 20  digs and  Samantha Vega  had 16  digs and two  blocks. That's the most  blocks  Vega has posted  in  she last three  matches.
 Meanwhile, Firebaugh came up short against  Tulare Union on Thursday, falling  3-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the The Tribe recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
 While Firebaugh was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Tulare Union's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19,  26-24.
 Coalinga has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record  this season. As for Firebaugh, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
 Coalinga was able to grind out a solid  victory over Firebaugh when the teams last played  back in October of 2023, winning  3-1. Does  Coalinga have another victory up their sleeve, or will Firebaugh turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
