Basketball Recap: Arapahoe Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Izzy Johnston and Jaya White

After flying high against Smoky Hill last Thursday, Arapahoe came back down to earth. The Arapahoe Warriors received a blow on Saturday as they fell 56-40 to the Eaglecrest Raptors. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raptors earlier this season, when they won 60-41.

Despite the defeat, Arapahoe had strong showings from Jaya White, who posted 11 points, and Izzy Johnston, who earned ten points and five rebounds. What's more, White posted four boards, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

Eaglecrest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amaia Jones led the charge by going 5-for-11 en route to 16 points and seven assists. Jada Bobb was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Arapahoe has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Eaglecrest and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

Arapahoe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-39 loss against Regis Jesuit on the 1st. As for Eaglecrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 54-33 victory against Fairview on the 26th.
