Baseball Recap: Goddard Comes Up Short

Goddard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Andover Trojans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 3rd.

Landon Kohlhorst was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Goddard's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Andover, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Goddard beat the Trojans by a score of 9-2 later that day.
