Davidson Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Nashville Christian Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ean McCord made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Eli Cross and Cam Suggs did most of the damage at the plate: Cross went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Suggs scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Suggs a new career-high. Peyton Vaughn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Davidson Academy's record is now 7-5. As for Nashville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Davidson Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Nashville Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
