Baseball Recap: Lake Highland Prep Comes Up Short

Lake Highland Prep might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Middlesex who claimed the real prize. Lake Highland Prep fell 7-4 to Middlesex. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Landon Towns and Manny Socarras stepped up to the plate in a big way. Towns went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, while Socarras scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Towns is becoming a predictor of Lake Highland Prep's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-2 (and 3-6 when he doesn't).

Lake Highland Prep now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Middlesex, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Lake Highland Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Foundation Academy on the 24th. As for Middlesex, they will challenge Austin Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
