McCallie was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Battle Ground Academy 41-6. The Blue Tornado came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 36 last week.
Ensworth extended the longest winning streak in Division II AA - East/Middle this week by beating Pope John Paul II, 49-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Ensworth's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Andrew Bowers threw for 176 and four touchdowns and Cornelius Elder had 43 yards receiving. On the ground Elder chipped in 208 yards. Jake Estes helped Ensworth's passing attack out by catching one ball for 37 yards.
Ensworth's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bowers has thrown for 965 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Myles Pasley has 13 catches for 318 yards. Elder leads the league in rushing with 1392 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Ricky Bowers's team and Montgomery Bell Academy. The Tigers comes into the matchup ranked first in the state, while the Big Red ranks sixth.
Ensworth led Division II AA - East/Middle in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on the Knights. Bowers in the win.
