Basketball Recap: New London Extends Winning Streak to Three

Monroeville typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday New London proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 51-34 victory over the Monroeville Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-32 back in December of 2024.

The win (which was New London's third in a row) raised their record to 15-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Monroeville, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the New London Wildcats duke it out with the Crestview Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Monroeville, they will square off against Mansfield Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mansfield Christian will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Monroeville surely won't give up without a fight.
