Basketball Recap: Romeoville Comes Up Short

Romeoville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Yorkville Foxes 66-39. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while the Foxes are ranked 100th).

When it comes to explaining why Romeoville lost, don't look at Kazaria Smith. Despite the final result, she posted 26 points. Smith's evening made it 22 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Romeoville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Yorkville, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Romeoville has already played their next match, a 73-59 loss against Naperville Central on the 25th. As for Yorkville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-47 victory against Sycamore on the 25th.
