Softball Recap: Boiling Springs Comes Up Short

Boiling Springs and Wade Hampton squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Boiling Springs had to settle for second. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Boiling Springs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Boiling Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Wade Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Coming up, Boiling Springs will challenge Rock Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.82 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wade Hampton, they will square off against Lexington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Generals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
