Basketball Game Preview: Chandler Wolves vs. Shadow Ridge Stallions

Two dominant guards in Markayla Shirley and Danica Lindemann are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Chandler Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Shadow Ridge Stallions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Chandler is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Chandler came up short against Casteel and fell 45-35.

Despite the loss, Chandler saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Justice Sims posted nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-36 win over Tolleson. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 29 points or more this season.

Chandler better keep an eye on Lindemann. She was instrumental in Shadow Ridge's win, going 7 of 8 from beyond the arc on her way to 25 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Wilson, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Shadow Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Chandler, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Everything came up roses for Chandler against Shadow Ridge in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 53-26 victory. Will Chandler repeat their success, or does Shadow Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
