Softball Game Preview: Stonington Bears vs. Griswold Wolverines

The Stonington Bears will face off against the Griswold Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stonington will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

If Stonington beats Griswold with five runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Bears walked away with a 5-2 win over Old Lyme on Monday.

Meanwhile, Griswold came up short against Montville on Monday, falling 13-1. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Griswold saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Bruno, who went 1-for-2 with one run. Elaina Concrad also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Stonington's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Griswold, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Stonington suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Griswold when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
