Basketball Recap: Carterville Falls Short of Benton in the Playoffs

Carterville and Benton squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Carterville had to settle for second. They fell 56-49 to the Benton Rangers. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now lost five in a row.

Carterville's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Benton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-4.

Carterville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benton, they will face off against Breese Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Breese Central will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Benton surely won't give up without a fight.
