Preview: Wagner Falcons vs. Curtis Warriors
The Wagner Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Curtis Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wagner's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Wagner suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Eagle Academy II, falling 93-60. While losing is never fun, Wagner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Eagle Academy II is ranked 26th).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Curtis, who are still winless after their 16th match. They were dealt a 74-44 loss at the hands of Bowne on Monday.
Wagner's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Curtis, they bumped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything went Wagner's way against Curtis when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Wagner made off with a 73-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wagner since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
