Basketball Recap: Desert Chapel Eagles vs. Weaver Monarchs
Desert Chapel gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They breezed by the Weaver Monarchs to the tune of 78-3. With the Eagles ahead 44-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Desert Chapel found their leader in freshman Jayvon Garcia, who went 11 for 15 en route to 24 points plus eight rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Felix Ochoa, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten steals.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Chapel will host Joshua Springs Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weaver, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Noli Indian at 3:30 p.m. on December 5th.
