Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Catholic Celtics vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes

The Trinity Catholic Celtics will take on the Mount Dora Hurricanes in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Dora took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Trinity Catholic, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Trinity Catholic turned things around against Meadowbrook Academy on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 62-49. That 13 point margin sets a new team best for the Celtics this season.

Trinity Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Julian Mendez led the charge by going 5 of 11 en route to 20 points along with eight assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadiel Jimenez, who posted 18 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Mount Dora suffered their biggest loss since February 6th on Friday. They came up short against Apopka, falling 58-34. The contest marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Mount Dora's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Trinity Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.

Trinity Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Mount Dora in their previous meeting back in November, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win.
