It was a proper cat-fight when SouthWest Edgecombe faced off against Wilson Prep on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 33-26 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Andre Downey Jr and Devion Mayo Jr were among the main playmakers for SouthWest Edgecombe as the former rushed for 44 yards and a pair of touchdowns and the latter rushed for 23 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Eastern Wayne got themselves on the board against North Lenoir on Friday, but North Lenoir never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 35-0 win over the Hawks.

SouthWest Edgecombe now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Eastern Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
