Baseball Recap: Crestview's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Crestview can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Milton Panthers 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since February 12th.

Kaleb Kompoltowicz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Crestview's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jace Jernigan, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Jernigan has posted since back in April of 2024.

Crestview's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Milton, they dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Crestview will host West Florida at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Milton, they will head out to challenge Navarre at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
