Baseball Recap: Germantown Beats Grenada for Their Fourth Straight Win

Germantown waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Grenada Chargers. That's more bragging rights for the Mavericks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Maddox Perry looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Estes, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Germantown: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Ashton Smith was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Germantown pushed their record up to 15-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Grenada, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10.

As of now, neither Germantown nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
