Baseball Recap: Braden River Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lakewood Ranch last Thursday, Braden River came back down to earth. The Pirates fell just short of the Neumann Celtics by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Sam Heintz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Jackson Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Braden River's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Neumann, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Braden River will be playing in front of their home fans against Out-of-Door Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunder will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Neumann, they will head out on the road to face off against Stoneman Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Celtics' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
