Middletown's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Upper Lake Cougars 6-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Middletown's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Upper Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown will take on Clear Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Upper Lake, they will challenge St. Helena at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
