Volleyball Recap: Mapleton Falls to Monroeville

The Mapleton Mounties came up short against the Monroeville Eagles on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Mounties have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mapleton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-27, 25-14, 25-10, 25-22.

Addison Hess stepped up in the defeat, getting 22 digs, 14 kills, and two aces. The team also got some help from Aubree Hess, who had 14 assists, 11 digs, and three aces.

Mapleton's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Monroeville, they have now won 14 of their last 17 games on the road. That gives them a 9-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mapleton is set to square off against their familiar foe New London at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Monroeville will challenge their in-conference opponent Plymouth at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
