Baseball Recap: Pittston Continues Home Dominance on Sunday

Pittston strolled into their game on Sunday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Wyoming Area Warriors 11-1. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Sunday's blowout was nothing new.

TJ Johnson looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Nick Innamorati was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Richard Tonte was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Pittston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wyoming Area only posted a batting average of .133.

Pittston's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Wyoming Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Pittston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-0 win against Greater Nanticoke Area on the 15th. As for Wyoming Area, they will square off against Hanover Area at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors are facing the Hawkeyes at the right time seeing as the Hawkeyes are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
