Basketball Recap: Pikeville Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

On Thursday, the Pikeville Panthers wrapped up 2024 with a 61-46 win over the Lenoir City Panthers. The 61-point effort marked Pikeville's lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Pikeville pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lenoir City, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Pikeville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East Hall at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Pikeville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully East Hall likes a good challenge. As for Lenoir City, they will head out to face off against Upperman at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
