Soccer Game Preview: Granby vs. Phoebus

The Granby Comets will head out to face off against the Phoebus Phantoms at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Granby's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Warwick 8-0. Ruby Hanna was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Phoebus' game on Tuesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Hampton. The win continues a trend for Phoebus in their matchups with Hampton: they've now won six in a row.

Granby is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 28 goals over those five matchups. As for Phoebus, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Granby took their victory against Phoebus in their previous matchup back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
