Baseball Recap: Evergreen's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Evergreen waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Renton Red Hawks 9-1. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Tycean Martin, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged four or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wilder Amechazurra, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Evergreen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Renton only posted a batting average of .308.

Evergreen's record is now 9-2. As for Renton, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Evergreen will face off against Interlake at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saints will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight. As for Renton, they will square off against Lindbergh at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Red Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
