Basketball Recap: Westover Takes a Loss

If Westover was feeling good fresh off their 62-39 takedown of Terry Sanford on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Westover Wolverines lost 69-43 to the Triton Hawks on Tuesday. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-16.

Triton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamaury Taylor led the charge by going 7-for-17 to rack up 18 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ro'Mello Pegues, who went 8-for-9 en route to 19 points and five rebounds.

Westover's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Triton, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

Westover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Triton, they will square off against Overhills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Triton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.7 points per game this season.
