Softball Game Preview: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

The Sage Creek Bobcats will take on the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sage Creek will be strutting in after a victory while Mt. Carmel will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Sage Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Helix, taking the game 6-2.

The team relied heavily on Lola Carson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kate Gonsalves was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Sage Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Torrey Pines who claimed the real prize. Mt. Carmel fell just short of Torrey Pines by a score of 7-5. The Sundevils haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Kaili Martha was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sage Creek, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

Mt. Carmel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sage Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Mt. Carmel, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain Sage Creek's hitters?

Sage Creek might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Mt. Carmel in their previous meeting back in April of 2021. Can Sage Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
