Baseball Recap: Hudson Comes Up Short

Hudson fell victim to Tompkins and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Tompkins Falcons by a score of 1-0.

Ceylan Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Hudson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Channing Howatt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9-1. As for Tompkins, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson will host Madisonville at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Madisonville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Tompkins, they will welcome Mayde Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Tompkins' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Mayde Creek has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
