Baseball Recap: Waupun Extends Winning Streak to Two

Waupun won the last time they faced Winneconne and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors never let the Wolves get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won three matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Prall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bryant Ferris was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Trey Schmidt also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Waupun and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Winneconne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Waupun will venture away from home to take on Chilton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Winneconne, they will square off against Iola-Scandinavia at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
