Baseball Game Preview: King Vikings vs. Rye Country Day Wildcats

For the second straight game, King will face off against Rye Country Day. The Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. King has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 26.

King had taken Rye Country Day down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2.

For Rye Country Day's part, Teddy Cooper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on 11 hits. Cooper has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brodie Moye was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Rye Country Day's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for King, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
