Recap: Clopton Hawks vs. Winfield Warriors
The Clopton Hawks can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 59-37 margin over Winfield. The victory was nothing new for Clopton as they're now sitting on five straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Clopton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braya Smith, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Charleigh Spoonster was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Clopton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Winfield, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
Clopton will take on Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winfield, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Charles West at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Charles West is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
