The Declo Hornets will face off against the Firth Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Declo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Declo's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over West Side. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won five in a row.

Makendrie Harris made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Teagan Wickel and Saige Wickel did most of the damage at the plate: Teagan went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI, while Saige went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Saige is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amerie Ewell, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Declo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Firth was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against Salmon, falling 19-1.
Meg Leslie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Firth's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Declo, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Firth's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Declo has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game.
