Baseball Recap: Beaver Dam Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Beaver Dam dropped their record down to 5-17 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell 25-20 to the Sandy Valley Sidewinders. Even though they lost, the Diamondback's still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Daniel Alonso-Ceja and Manuel Castillo stepped up to the plate in a big way. Alonso-Ceja got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one double, while Castillo went 5-for-6 with three runs and three RBI. Beaver Dam is 2-1 when Alonso-Ceja posts three or more RBI, but 3-16 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aaron Huerta, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Sandy Valley, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Sandy Valley's side, Lorrenzo Muniz was a standout: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave Muniz a new career-high in hits (three). Lucas Ryan was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.
